In a similar vein, someone recently reported that the library was misspelled in the <name> tag of the 'Specific Library.xml' file. The spelling didn't match the spelling in the <reg> tag. Native Instruments has acknowledged that they have some bad metadata for some libraries, so my guess is that when Native Access makes the xml file, it prints a misspelled name in the xml file, which Kontakt won't recognize. I'd be very interested if people who know how to read xml files and have had disappearing libraries could report on his.
One other person yesterday reported success by deleting the plist files in his Preference folder.
Here are some of the previous 'disappearing library' tricks that might also be worth trying:
1. Go to the 'Database Options' tab and click 'Update.' That used to be the most dependable fix, plus it's easy.
2. Make sure there's an xml file for the particular library in the folders I referenced above. For example, there should be a 'Fingerpick.xml' file in the Service Center folder. Those are supposed to get created automatically, but sometimes they won't. The developer can usually send you one in those cases, and you just drag it into the Service Center folder.
Any corrections, suggestions, or additional input are obviously welcome. I'll make this thread a sticky later, but personally, I never notice the stickies, so I'm leaving it un-stickied for a day or two so that people will see it.
