  1. Launch the Photos app on your Mac.
  2. Select the Photos menu in the upper left corner of your screen.

(I have a 1TB iMac, but also have almost a terabyte of 4K video stored in iCloud — it gets unwieldy, fast!) When I try to enable iCloud Photo Library on my Mac, it says, 'Your full-resolution photos and videos stored in iCloud may not fit on this Mac,' and gives me the option to 'optimize storage' or 'cancel.' I don't want to 'optimize storage' because I want to be able to back up all of my full-resolution photos using time machine. If I select optimize storage, I won't have that option. I don't understand why it says all of my photos and videos may not fit because I only have 3gb stored in iCloud and 38 gb free on my Mac. If 38gb's not enough to store 3gb, how much space do I need? Anyone have any clue what's going on?
